What is your purpose in life? What has you get up every day and keeps your adrenaline pumping? In my last blog I talked about my vision around people’s ability to make choices. Remembering that we have the ability to make choice is the first step in creating the life of your dreams. The second step is making choices that are in alignment with your purpose.

Have you ever done something that got you so excited that you couldn’t stop the activity or lose all track of time? What made you so purposeful in your task? If you can find out what your purpose for a task is, when you are faced with making choices, especially when they are hard choices, it will be much easier to make the choice that is in alignment with your purpose. As you get clearer with your purpose, the path that you are on towards your desired destiny will become clearer. You will see that the choices may not be harder, or choices that may have seemed difficult may not be as difficult before. You won’t feel as though you’re a victim anymore. You will know that the choices you are making are moving you towards your desired outcome.

Once you stop swimming against your purpose, and start swimming with your purpose, life won’t seem so tough. Things will fall into alignment with your purpose. You will have more energy and things that seemed unattainable or out of reach will seem closer and appear much easier than they did before. A purpose doesn’t have to be a large overarching life purpose either. It can be as simple as my purpose is in writing this post. My purpose in writing this post is to share with you, the reader, tools to create awareness resourcefulness and energy in your life. Because I’m clear with my purpose I can complete my task, get my blog finished and posted. I don’t have to worry about how it looks or is it ‘right.’ As long as I’ve shared with you my tools then I’m fulfilling my purpose.

So I challenge you, the next time you’re faced with making difficult choices, or you feel like your swimming against the current, get very clear with yourself about what your purpose is and make your choices so that they are in alignment with your purpose. You’ll be amazed at how much energy you create!

Until my next blog, have an energetic day in alignment with your purpose!

One of my visions in life is that everyone has the knowledge that they get to make choices in their life, and that based on those choices, they create their destiny. Over the next few weeks I’ll be blogging about my vision and how it can help you in your life. It seems so simply to most of us who were blessed with growing up in a free society and have access to the internet. My purpose for writing my blog posts over the next few weeks is to have you realize what a blessing and privilege you have to make the choices in your life and to act on that ability to choose in each moment in your life to create the life of your dreams.

In every moment, during every day you get to choose; the way you see with your filters, the way you feel with your filters, the way you hear with your filters, the way you react with your filters, and what actions you make based on those filters. It’s easy to forget that we get to make choices, and instead be the victim, blame others and complain about what has ‘happened’ to us.

I challenge you to wake up each day, and be thankful that you have the privilege to have the freedom of choice, to remember your freedom of choice when the going gets tough. When you feel like you’re the victim, go back and analyze your choices, and be accountable for the choices that you have made that have gotten you your current results. When you want different results, make different choices. It sounds simple, and I know, sometimes it seems more like you’re pushing a rock uphill. But it’s easy enough to start with the first step of being thankful that you live in a society that allows you the freedom of choice. Step 1: Start with an Attitude of Gratitude!

Until my next blog, I hope that you have a wonderful day and create the life you have been dreaming of!

Do you ever stop and get to really know people, and I mean really know them? When you sit down and have a meal with someone or a phone conversation, do you really stop and listen to what the other person is saying? Have you ever thought about what the other person sitting across from you at the restaurant can really share with you?

Today I had brunch with a family member and a friend of hers. I decided at the beginning of brunch that I just wanted to listen to what this new person had to contribute and really listen to who he was. To my surprise, he had so much to offer me and contribute to my life. We actually have a lot in common, and had I not chosen to really listen to him, I would have never really ‘heard’ him. By the way, this is a person, that on paper; I would probably not get along with. We have very different political views. However, what doesn’t matter is how we vote in the ballot box, but how we show up in our day-to-day lives. Because I took that time to get to know the person sitting across from me, I learned that this person was actually someone that I could hang out with and we could equally contribute to each other’s lives.

I really had to examine, how many times a day, do I meet people, and not really listen to them. What am I missing by not really connecting and listening to what people have to offer to me? What could I be missing and not offering to people? All of us want to be connected with others but how quickly we rush through our day and don’t stop and take the time to really connect with the person sitting across from us.

So I challenge you, over the next week, stop and really listen to the person sitting across from you. Who is that person? How can you connect with them? How can the two of you help each other? You just never know who you might meet.

Have you ever wanted to do something but weren’t sure where to begin or if you should? If you’re like me, you may be the analytical type and you seek lots of information before making a decision. Maybe you aren’t sure where to begin or how to begin. You have been looking around for answers or for someone to tell you the easy, 1,2,3 steps to getting it done. Maybe you want to know what the outcome will be to minimize all of the risks before jumping in with both feet.

Have you searched high and low for all the available data to diminish the risks, to know the outcomes, so you could take the first step. Maybe if you talk to one more person they will have one more piece of insight or advice that will help you take that first step. But realistically, what is stopping you from actually doing what you want, from taking that first step? Is having all the information really going to take away all the risks or going to give you all the answers? The reality is, it won’t.

So, how do you get over the hurdle of wanting to reduce the risks while you seek information, and still take the first step towards what you seek. Simple, take an initial step towards your desired outcome. Once you have taken that initial step, you can then analyze your results. Are you getting your desired outcome? If you are, great, keep moving forward. If your not, great, you can change your direction. Without taking some type of action, you will never know what outcome your choices will make. So, take a step, and then ask yourself, what are my results?
